This policy explains what personal information Marathi Jodi (marathi-jodi.in) collects, how we use it and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect

• Account details: name, email address, mobile number and password (stored only in encrypted, hashed form).

• Profile details you choose to add: gender, date of birth, marital status, religion, caste, education, profession, income, family details, partner preferences and photos.

• Verification documents you choose to upload, such as Aadhaar, income proof or kundali.

• Messages and call activity between you and other members, so the chat and calling features work.

• Payment records: plan, amount, date and Razorpay order/payment IDs. Card, UPI and bank details are handled entirely by Razorpay; we never see or store them.

• Basic technical data such as browser type and IP address, used for security and troubleshooting.

2. How we use it

• To create your account, show your profile to other members and suggest matches.

• To review and approve profiles and keep the community safe from fake or fraudulent accounts.

• To provide chat, voice and video calling between members.

• To process memberships and send payment confirmations.

• To send you account-related emails or SMS, such as verification codes and important notices.

• To respond to your questions and complaints.

3. What other members can see

Approved members can see your profile details and photos. Your email address, mobile number and verification documents are never shown to other members. Verification documents are visible only to you and our review team.

4. Sharing with third parties

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the website, and only as needed for that purpose:

• Amazon Web Services (hosting and secure storage, servers located in India);

• Razorpay (payment processing);

• email and SMS providers (verification codes and notifications);

• calling infrastructure providers (connecting voice and video calls).

We may also disclose information if required by law, court order or a government authority, or to protect the safety of our members.

5. Data security

All traffic to the website is encrypted with HTTPS. Passwords are hashed, verification documents are stored privately and accessed only through short-lived secure links, and access to our systems is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account is active. When you ask us to delete your account we remove your profile from the website and delete your personal data, except payment records that we must keep for tax and accounting purposes as required by Indian law.

7. Your choices and rights

• You can view and update your profile at any time from the Edit Profile page.

• You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete your account, by contacting us.

• You can withdraw consent for optional information (such as photos or documents) by removing it from your profile.

8. Cookies and local storage

We use your browser’s local storage to keep you signed in and remember simple preferences. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

9. Children

The website is only for adults of legal marriageable age. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.

11. Grievance officer
